Rhodes - currency

The currency in Rhodes is the Euro.

It’s always a good idea to exchange your travel money before your trip, and you can order as much as you need and have it delivered straight to your door. This way you don’t need to worry about getting stung by expensive airport exchange rates.

Carrying a mixture of cash and card gives you a bit more flexibility, and you’ll find plenty of ATMs dotted across the island. If you plan on using your card, we advise contacting your provider to check if there are any additional fees. Or, you can use a prepaid travel card, which you can load with the correct currency before you jet off.

Many larger shops and restaurants will accept cards, but cash is always appreciated by small businesses. It’s worth having a variety of coins too since change can be in short supply in more remote areas.
